For Chevy Equinox 2005-2009, Saturn Vue. Please use ACDelco 19330402 to search online for fitment. (I will pitch in a harness for free. It will allow you to hook up some cars that use a different power plug.)
The canister has a solenoid valve that is normally open (12V DC power not on). This means when you fill up your gas tank, the canister's vent port will allow air to escape (otherwise you cannot fill up your tank without resistance). When 12V power is on, the vent port will be close, so the car can check your fuel system for leaks (EVAP leak check). This can be easily verified using a 9V battery when we meet.
