Meet Socks, he is around 18ish years old. He has been well loved by our family, but unfortunately cannot keep him, his pasture mate just passed and he’s all alone here. We think that he’d be more happy with friends. He’s a great horse and my kids and husband ride him, usually bareback, with only a face halter. He behaves well and is very gentle.
He was originally Amish trained to pull buggies and drive farm equipment, plow etc. they said he would stand still and they could walk away trusting he would stay until they got back. He was not an Amish work horse, just trained by them.
None of us are trained in training horses, so he’s mostly for fun, but has done some work in his youth. It’s sad to see him go, but, it’s I think it’s in his best interest if he goes to a good home that will love him just as much as we do.
He does well with other horses, goats, cows, donkeys, chickens etc.
$2500 obo…willing to trade for Dexter bull with good temperament.
