The TV is kind of an oddball TV, it has a great picture and a very flat screen. It is, however, a multi-system TV (for use in the US and overseas). As a result, the TV's cable-readiness is sort of questionable. You can set it to auto-program and it will, but your channel lineup will not match the advertised listings. I use the VCR's TV tuner and this eliminates the problem completely. With the Samsung VHS player, the system is 100% cable ready. You also get the ENORMOUS universal remote which preserves all functionality for the TV/VCR set -you can even set the clock and program the VCR!

The stand alone is likely worth the asking price! The TV works great! The VHS player works great! It is a great set!

The listing picture is not a good indicator of the picture quality on the TV -the picture is flawless! The TV features front AV inputs (for your kids video game) as well as a set of REAR AV inputs! You will get the "Type F" adapter for this multi-system TV. Also included, a set of RCA jacks and a short co-ax cable to run from the VCR output to the TV input.

Again, with the VHS player, the unit is perfectly ready for your cable system and your channel lineup will match (provided you utilize the VHS unit).
